Indonesia aircraft in Sumatra crash

The CASA C-212 aircraft sent an emergency signal, during the flight between North Sumatra and Aceh provinces, herry Bakti said the Ministry of transport.

He said it lost contact with air control and crashed on 1,100 m (3, 600 m), near in the village of North Sumatra Bahorok.

Rescue teams, reportedly were hindered by rain and rough terrain.

"The plane crashed at some point between 07: 28 (00: 28 GMT) and 08: 05 today morning at Bahorok mountain, about 36 km northwest of Medan," Mr Bakti, of the Ministry of aviation head, said told AFP.

The Ministry said the craft wreck was discovered, during the monitoring of the air and appeared to be largely intact to his body.

There was no word on the fate of its 14 passengers, including four children and four crew members.

Indonesia is based on air transport and can look back on a poor aviation safety.
